Via Negativa
(less is more)
Via Negativa (Less is More) Only when I am lost can I be found and hoisted upon His shoulders. Only when I cease trying to know am I ready to learn what my hobbled language cannot express. Only when I surrender certainty can I stand at the precipice of Mystery. Only as a slave can I become free. Once, on a terrible fearful day, life as I’d known it was revealed to be naught but an illusion. Only when it was sliced from me by a single ax-blow could I hear in the depths of my shattered being a voice which whispered, “I will survive.” Only then could I begin to write my way into a new, unanticipated, unexpected, unpredicted way of being. Only in the darkness could I perceive the light that beckoned. Only in the death of all I had known was I reborn. Only in singing a song to those who refused to listen could I find my true voice. So come with me, you who are lost. Gather ‘round; give up the fight for survival. Nail it all to the cross and enter an unforeseen paradise. Die and live. BG 08.03.26
